Some artists start with an empty canvas and with great skill, care, love and passion work with their chosen mediums, be it watercolors, oils or pastels, to create a wonderful art treasure to be owned by one and admired by many. Jeff Wattenbarger is such an artist, only his canvas is a bare piece of land and his mediums are the rich woods, stones and other elements that mother nature and man has created to help Jeff build the dream homes for those with discerning tastes. Jeff Wattenbarger was born and raised in Bakersfield, California and is a third generation builder. After graduating from the prestigious University of Southern California in Los Angeles, Jeff began his building career developing residential and commercial projects in the Bakersfield area. In 1994, Jeff was engaged in residential development for the Cabazon Indian Reservation in Coachella and fell in love with the wonderful community and the beautiful desert lifestyle. The last 15 years of Jeff’s thriving 33 years in the building industry has been spent in the Coachella Valley, where he builds magnificent homes for his clients at the most exclusive locations including Bighorn, The Reserve, The Hideaway, Madison Club, Bermuda Dunes Country Club, and El Dorado Country Club. Wattenbarger Custom Homes has been honored for two consecutive years with the highly revered prize as custom home builder of the year, winning the 2007 and 2008 PRISM Awards for the “Best New Custom Home.” Jeff’s colleagues and clients admire and appreciate his personal, engaging approach to his work. After all, he does have the heart of a true artist. Starting in his early years in Bakersfield, Jeff was an active community figure, serving as President of both the Builders’ Exchange and the Rotary Club.
