Public Comments:
It was noted by a BD resident that he felt that all of the medians needed to better defined for driving at night.
Mohjahed Salama, Engineering will check this out and add reflectors

A BD resident would like to re-address the Bermuda Dunes Overlay Project. He feels that Code Enforcement
isn't making residents get into compliance with this project.

Code Enforcement: Brenda Hanna was not in attendance.
It was noted by Lynda Kearney (Supervisor Benoit's Assistant) that Betty Sanchez reported that during the
Bermuda Dunes clean-up campaign, she had cleaned up alleys and vacant lots in BD.

TLMA:
Mojahed Salama, Engineering Division Manager, reported that the Fred Waring project is still in the works and
he is hopeful that some resolution will be made soon.
He also said that drainage problems on Jamaica Drive had been resolved.
He also noted that the striping on Country Club had been completed and it seemed to working well.

The Fire Chief mentioned the Fill the Boot Campaign will be taking place within the next couple of weeks. He
reminded everyone that firemen will be out at intersections with boots. Please donate to Muscular Dystrophy.

Cert Classes

CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on
their own and their actions can make a difference.
CERT training is a commitment of 20 hours (must attend ALL 20 hours). Only those who successfully complete
the practical exercise with hand-on instruction in fire suppression light search and rescue, cribbing and medical
will receive a certificate of completion.

There is no cost for the training.

It was noted by the Fire Chief that 95% of the time their response time to a fire is less than 5 minutes.
The Fire Departments in the Valley have a new computer system that will allow their response time to be less
once everyone is on board.

Certification Classes are ONLY scheduled at the Roy Wilson Training Center in Thousand Palms.

Anyone wanting additional information or to register, please call the Riverside county  Fire Department
Office of Emergency Services at
(951) 955-4700

It was pointed out by the Fire Chief that all of Bermuda Dunes' fire hydrants are maintained by
Wyoma Water Company and that the County isn't responsible for their workability.
